2016 VTA State Conference
In an environment of ever increasing change and market complexity, the ability for businesses and the workforce to evolve will be a precious differentiator between competitors. Innovation will be critical for success in local, national and international markets.
Victoria’s public VET providers are the foundation for the state’s workforce development needs. As the economy and our communities transition to meet these challenges of evolution, TAFEs are likewise repositioning what and how we service Victoria to maintain our role as an enabler for the state’s economic and social reform.
To foster innovation, we need to ourselves be innovative. The products and services we offer now must meet the needs of a future beyond the horizon, and must leverage our considerable strengths. The collaborative relationships our public VET providers have with all the key stakeholders: industry; government; businesses; our communities; citizens; and each other are critical for success.
The 2016 VTA State Conference program brings together an exciting list of local and international speakers to engage the might of Victoria’s public VET sector leaders in the challenge to collaborate and innovate, and realise the future now!

2015 VTA State Conference
Victorian public providers – having endured a period of massive transformational change – have a vital role to play in leading and supporting Victoria’s transformational challenge. VTA members are uniquely positioned to support the new government’s social and economic agenda: providing young people with pathways to meaningful careers in dynamic new industries; up-skilling and cross-skilling existing workers to enable them to transition successfully; and partnering with industries, employers and communities through the transformational process.Victoria’s economy is undergoing the fastest rate of structural adjustment in Australia. To make a successful transition, businesses and their personnel will need to understand the capability requirements of the new landscape. Likewise, they will need to assess their own capabilities, promote their strengths and identify and address the gaps. The Victorian TAFE Association’s 2015 State Conference, Leading Transformational Change, is a timely consideration of the changing role of the Victorian public VET sector provider, where we have come from and where we are headed.
