VTA submission to the Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC) focuses on creating a better and fairer tertiary education system that delivers for students and on national economic and social objectives.
The VTA endorses the TAFE Directors Australia’s (TDA) “Ten Big Ideas”, as stated in the TDA’s submission to this consultation.
While our perspective is grounded in Victoria, the issues and insights we raise are of clear national relevance to the consultation and the work of the Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC).
This submission reflects a TAFE perspective. As the largest provider of VET, including apprenticeships and full qualifications, TAFEs are critical stakeholders in tertiary harmonisation. It is therefore essential that their role and experience are recognised and central to reform design and implementation.
