Centre for the Economics of Education and Training (CEET) is the only centre for the economics of education and training in Australia. CEET undertakes research, consultancies and research training in the areas of economics and finance of education and training and the labour market.
CEET was established in 1992 as joint centre of the Monash faculties of Education and Business and Economics and with close links with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). From 1994 to 2009 it operated as the Monash University-ACER Centre for the Economics of Education and Training. It is currently an entity within the Monash Faculty of Education.
CEET focuses on the contribution of education and training to economic and social development, undertaking research training, consultancies and dissemination of the economics and finance of education and training. It has extensive experience and expertise in: the finance and economics of education and training; analysis of large data sets; policy development; supply and demand analysis; and working with government authorities in Australia and overseas. CEET undertakes research for a rage of public and private sector clients.
Key research themes include:
- employer-supported training,
- industrial and occupational changes in the Australian economy and their implications for education and training,
- participation and outcomes in education and training.
The economics of vocational education and training, workforce development, students, vocational education/higher education.
