The VET Development Centre (VDC), formerly known as the TAFE Development Centre, provides workforce development services to the entire VET sector and undertakes projects with both statewide and national focus. The Centre is a public company limited by guarantee, the Victorian Minister for Training and Skills is the sole member.
A key objectives of the VET Development Centre is to identify, encourage and contribute to the development of research into vocational teaching and learning in Australia and overseas. This is done in a variety of ways including by undertaking and commissioning research on current topics. The Centre also evaluates its program and funding activities to benchmark good practice and disseminates this to the wider VET sector.
