WorldSkills Australia, Global Skills Challenge
Presented in conjunction with the Victorian Skills Commissioner and the Victorian TAFE Association, the 2019 Global Skills Challenge will be the biggest international skills excellence event to be held in Australia in 2019 with 500 competitors, from 15 different countries taking part in 24 different skills competitions.
The Global Skills Challenge will be the final training exercise for the WorldSkills Australian Skills Squad. The key outcome of this event will be the announcement of the WorldSkills Australia Skillaroos team, who’ll then go onto represent Australia at the world’s largest skills competition – the 45th WorldSkills International Competition being held in Kazan, Russia in August 2019.
9 – 15 April 2019
WorldSkills will host the 2019 Global Skills Challenge in Melbourne at Victorian TAFE Facilities. For practical purposes, the skill area competitions will be hosted by three metropolitan TAFE institutes –
- Holmesglen Institute – Moorabbin and Chadstone
- RMIT University
- Kangan Institute – ACE Centre of Excellence and Richmond Campus
Given the current energy around WorldSkills in Victoria, this is a great opportunity for the whole Victorian TAFE Network to engage with, and draw benefit from this exciting international event.
