91% of TAFE learners achieve their employment goals with TAFE

A new short documentary launched today by the Victorian TAFE Association (VTA) highlights the research, evidence and people behind a landmark report showing Victorian TAFEs are helping learners achieve what matters most: their employment goals.

The documentary showcases the findings of the VTA-commissioned report, Employment Outcomes for Victorian TAFE Learners, which found that 91 per cent of TAFE students undertaking training for employment-related reasons achieve or partly achieve their employment goals.

The report also found that four in five TAFE students enrol primarily for employment-related reasons and that strong outcomes are achieved even among students who do not complete a full qualification.

The documentary prompts viewers to challenge the narrow public focus on completion rates and explore a more meaningful measure of success: whether learners gain the skills, opportunities and career outcomes they set out to achieve.
