VTA Research Gateway
The VTA is aware that many of its members are involved in research activities that support things such as internal policy development and strategic planning, responses to public policy issues, and the professional development of staff. Often this research is carried out by staff new to research or those familiar with research but with limited time to search the extensive data bases that exist around vocational education. The VTA has decided to create a Research Gateway that assists members and their staff to access more quickly and efficiently those state, national and international resources that are available when they need to find them.
In consultation with our members we have identified a list of 'headline' issues that are for them the subject of regular research activity and/or issues for which they have an existing evidence base which they would like to build on and they are seeking resources to enhance, compare, contrast and/or validate their own findings.
These headline issues are
- The economics of vocational education and training
- Workforce development
- Community engagement
- Vocational education/higher education
These issues have been used as filters for the relevance of research organisations & networks currently included on the VTA Resarch Gateway. The entry for each organisation gives its title, the type of organisation, the site content and the headline issues.
This is not an exhaustive list of research organisations but it is the intention of the VTA to build on the Research Gateway by adding resources through our own research activity and by encouraging members and others to recommend sites for inclusion.
