- ATTN Home
Since 1985 the ATTN has provided consistent and effective support for staff working in the area of Apprenticeship and Traineeship training and liaising with agencies in the administration of these programs. It provides a critical forum for members to discuss best practice delivery and the opportunity to listen to various presentations and speakers. This continuously increases knowledge and skills in this area.
Meetings are held at the Victorian TAFE Association every 2 months. These meetings provide an opportunity for representatives from all Victorian TAFE’s to meet, discuss and exchange relevant information on future directions, research, current delivery guidelines, trends, compliance issues and many other matters pertaining to apprenticeships and traineeships. Representatives from Higher Education & Skills Group, Federal Department of Education, Federal Department of Industry, VTA, VCAA and other organisations also attend these meetings on a regular basis which allows all parties to seek information, feedback and to discuss the implementation of new initiatives.
Through these meetings the network can reflect the views of its members and provide advice and assistance on apprenticeship/traineeship practice to all parties. It also enables members to disseminate information to the appropriate staff in their Institute to keep abreast of the latest information and requirements.
Typically your representative at ATTN activities would be the Manager/Co-ordinator of significant areas of apprenticeship/traineeship delivery in your organisation, or the person principally responsible for this business activity. Many TAFE providers nominate key personnel responsible for analysing and reporting on apprenticeship activity. We feel it is most important for managers to engage in the discussions around future directions of the apprenticeship and traineeship systems and VET policy.
